LIfe in Tokyo is fast and people work and play hard. Days were long and I experienced my latest ever team meeting from 9.30-10.30pm... this just seemed the norm for Tokyo citizens. It seemed as though peak time for dinner was around 11pm. After work the city buzzes with bright neon lights and lots of drunk people lying comatised on the streets.
We stayed in Shibuya which was similar to Picaddilly Circus in London only more crowded with thousands of young Japanese shoppers .I loved the cleanliness of the hotels which came complete with washing machines, pjamas and indoor slippers. It was also fun playing with all the multifunctions on all the Japanese toilets.. heated toilet seats were always a welcome suprise:)
Over the weekend my collegue Luke and I toured around the city visiting temples, electronic districts, upmarket shopping areas and the ancient palace. Best of all was all the different types of Japanese food. From raw fish, to tea dishes, to coin slot machine noodles to authentic ramen noodles - it was all delicious.
