The past few days in the house have entailed us eating piles of greasy shit while the family uses the money we pay them to eat real food at a different time to us. Today we had ´chicken nuggets´that were more dogs bum than chickenm while they had actual chicken wings. We´ve also ben banned from doing laundry in the house even though they have a washing machine in the kitchen. The mum insisted that we could only wash by hand but she would do it for us if we paid her- cheeky bitch!
Yesterday the president of Nicaragua visited Esteli so we had the day off. He arrived in the evening on the wasteland grass outside our house so we stood in the doorway with the family, who continued to ignore us throughout the evening, failing to even explain anything about the presidents visit. Later that night we went to the boys house and spent the night drinking rum and playing cards with their family. Jamie got surprisingly drunk from taking baby sips throughout the night, the alcohol must have given him the false impression that he could speak spanish as he called himself ´bonita´which means pretty girl... maybe he was trying to tell us something....
After overdosing on his baby sips, he managed to crawl to the uni the next morning, arriving looking like the definition of a hangover with patches of stubble, the sweats and some poo stains on his jeans. He then spent the rest of the morning with his head buried in his hands on the desk, only piping up when he found a picture of a naked man in the text book ´complete with a dick!´as he said infront of the university´s professor of english. Representing Great Britain with pride, he demonstrated his eagerness to learn about the human anatomy and broaden his knowledge.
