yipppeee!!! i have got here alive!!
My god, what a hell-journey...lots and lote of stares...why are you alone? why are you dressed like that? WHAT...you are a muslim!!!! It has been one laugh after another...
I got here 2 hours late...then we waited for passport checks...only 3 hours..then OBVIOUSLY no-one accepts sterling travellers cheques..oh then there's no-one to pick me up from CRP-the rehab hospital...
When i finally begged/flirted/pleaded with the bank idiot he let me change some of my sterling cash...and i eventually got to Savar....
...then THAT'S when i realised i was officially here....wow...sticky skin, warm air, lots and lots of big palm-like trees (it's so like pakistan, but really flourishing with greenery), the flip-flops, the big welcomes, the beautiful children...they just get on with it and always seem to be laughing, the cotton suits...i'm loving it already!!!
The people are so lovely, and all the genuine smiles on the little children, sitting in remarkable hand-made wheelchairs...wondering what i'm doing there!! They love the fact that my parents lived in Pakistan....and can't get over the concept of a British Asian wanting to come and stay with them...they really are curious....oh, and i've been really fortunate that so many Urdu and Hindi words are similar to the Bangladeshy language...makes ordering food so much easiier!!!
i have to dash all my lovelies...there's work to be done!!!And this smiley man is throwing me out!!!!
Hope you are all well....go home and put some flip-flops on...it's amazing!!!
