Travelled from L.A. to San Francisco by greyhound bus trip was comfortable but uneventful travelled up interstate saw lots of vines and orchards. Arrived about 7pm and went to Comfort Inn by the Bay. Had early night knackered. Next morning we went to Wharf and looked around did a lot of walking had lunch in an irish pub Fiddlers Green. Explored area to find about tours. Next day Billy went to Mass to try and save all our souls. Mick & Marie went out and did the trams they were great went back and forward several times it was a dream come true for me (Marie) Union square was lovely. St. Patricks day is greatly celebrated over here they celebrate for 3 days. On Monday we took a ferry to Alcatraz and did a tour of the cells it was quite eerie down in cells it was a very enjoyable tour. Special note to the Still Billy says he was in prison and got out again for good behaviour and he definetly won't be quite in future We had lunch again in Fiddlers Green. Then we went on The Golden Gate Bridge but the fog came down and also misty we walked over a bit but we got quite wet. Yesterday we went to Sausalito it was a nice little place but not much to do over there we had lunch looking over the marina. Billy and Bridie went back early and did the trams. Last night we went to Union Square to a restaurant called Daily Grill and had dinner to celebrate St. Patricks Day we also went to Foleys pub to have a few drinks. Today Bridie is doing a wine tour the rest of us are going to Golden Gate Bridge Park. Tomorrow unfortunately we are homeward bound.
