Port Douglas - 29th February 2008 (Barrier Reef).  We arrived at 7am to good weather and boarded the tender at 8:15 to take us to the Catamaran.  We had a nice cup of tea and biscuits on our way to the Agincourt reef were there was a pontoon to dive or snorkel from.  On arrival we took the semi sub around the reef for 25 minutes the coral and fish were unbelievable.  There were so many wonderful colours and so much coral we had never seen before.  Whilst on the sub Dennis spotted a Hawkes Bill Turtle.  Next on the agenda was the snorkeling, as I have never done this before I was a bit apprehensive.  Dennis took the lead and I went swimming to start with as I was afraid the water would get into my eyes.  However after a while I tried using Dennis's mask and snorkel to get used to the breathing and making sure the water would not get into my lenses.  So I was a brave bunny and put on my own gear and swam out into the reef what a fabulous experience one of the best in my life.  After the excitement of seeing all the fish we had a lovely lunch with never ending supplies of beer, wine and bubbly before we boarded back onto the catamaran to head back home to the Queen Vic.  We will be at sea now for the next 5 days until we reach Borneo and Kota Kinabalu

Wow you pair. Congratulations on getting so far out of your comfort zone. I don't think I would have had the courage especially after seeing all the sharks and sting rays at the Sydney Aquarium.

Bye for now
Love Kathleen xx
