Hello Again
We've put some miles on this Winnebago Beast and we seem to be doing quite well mechanically. Everything seems to be working pretty good. We are still on the historic Alaska Highway, heading for Alaska, and we've come to mile #635 and continue to marvel at the U.S. Army and their miracle accomplishment.
Watson Lake is a pretty little town with tourist attractions that include the Northern Lights Center and the much-imitated original Signpost Forest. The Signpost Forest was started in 1942 by a homesick G.I. working on the Alaska Highway, who put a sign with the name of his home town and the distance. Others followed suit and the tradition continues to this day. In fact, we had a few of our group hang signs. Today, there are more than 80,000 signs of various types depicting locations across the world. See pictures.
Poots is still being a good little traveler. Her hiding place of choice now seems to be under the couch and we are constantly having to extricate her from her "nest", much to her chagrin. When she's scared, she hisses and that's anytime someone she doesn't know approaches or enters the coach. Keeping her from diving under the couch is a ongoing challenge and so far she's winning the battles. It's a darn shame when one cannot be smarter than a cat. Oh well.............
On to Teslin, Yukon Territory for an over nighter. Stay tuned.
