We left Arizona yesterday morning, after a VERY early wake up call (4:15 a.m.!) to get Jess and Tom to their 6:30 a.m. flight.  The 4+ hour drive seemed longer than usual, even though we gained an hour and got a good early start...must have been because we were both sleepy.
Arrived at our Thousand Trails park here in Palm Desert around lunch time, got set up and went for a swim, which felt really refreshing, but didn't keep me from falling asleep for a while by the pool, while Greg went back to the motorhome and took a short nap in the recliner!  Despite our cat naps, we both were ready to go to bed by 8:30 p.m., and we slept 'til almost 8:30 this morning!   Guess all our partying at Phoenix finally caught up with us!
While grilling our dinner last night, Greg called me outside to catch the beautiful moon rising between the many palm trees around us...will upload the picture a bit later.
Today, we took a drive up to "apple country" - Oak Glen is another RV Park in Yucaipa, which we wanted to check out.  At 4,800 feet, they're already getting down around freezing temps at night, but our reason for deciding not to go there to stay is that there's very little in the way of cell phone or aircard (my internet connection) signal.  Being so close to friends here in Southern California and being incommunicado is not our idea of a good time!
Out to dinner tonite at Fisherman's Market and Grill for some fabulous fish and chips, a quick shopping stop at Trader Joe's (love that store!), and then home for the evening.
Plans for the week include a tour of the windfarm (windmills here produce 80% of the U.S. wind-powered electricity!), and a probable visit to the Palm Springs Living Desert Zoo and Museum.
