Here in our Thousand Trails Preserve, far from the craziness of the Strip, it doesn't feel at all like the picture that pops into your head when you hear someone's in Vegas!  Because I don't believe that what happens in Vegas has to stay in Vegas, I thought I'd share a "snapshot" of what our life is like - even in Vegas!
We've been keeping busy here at "home", had to re-clean the motorhome, inside and out, after being sandblasted in the windstorm this past week, so we a day or so on that.  Of course, there's always the laundry  (small loads in our little on-board washer/dryer combo) to be done, and grocery shopping too (how can two people eat so much?!).  The evenings have been so beautiful - comfortable temperatures and clear night skies, with the most incredible full moon.  Tonight, we ate dinner at the picnic table with the small TV on the patio, watching the World Series, and now, we're back inside, watching my cousin Amy on "ER", where she has a recurring role as Dr. Janet Coburn, OB.  It's always fun to see her on TV, especially when we haven't gotten together in a while!
So, there it is in a nutshell - although I usually write about the fun and exciting side of our life on the road - there's a very mundane side as well!  We will have a fun weekend, however, as we're going to the NHRA Drag Races tomorrow at The Drag Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, and on Saturday, the Sprint and Midget Cars are racing on the Dirt Track at LVMS, so we'll be there, too.
October 30th:  We left Las Vegas without having spent even a minute on the strip, as the one day we planned to look at a couple of the free "shows" at various casino venues, we sat in traffic for 20 minutes and moved less than two blocks.  Neither of us had the patience for it, so we decided to skip it.  We sure did enjoy the perfect temperatures in the evening, and we took our wine outside every night after dinner to just sit and relax, enjoying the sunsets and later, the full moon and stars in a sky that didn't even hint of the vegas glitz, glamor and bright lights a mile or less away!
