We had been hanging out in Vegas when it came to our attention that this weekend is the Toyota Showdown two-day race at Irwindale Speedway. It's an event we've been to for many years, and is always good racing, with up-and-coming stock car drivers from all over the country in attendance. So, rather than have an entire weekend go by without attending a race, we decided to leave the car and tow dolly in our site at Vegas, and drove the motorhome the 4 hours to Irwindale, where our friends Gary and Kathy are going to come out and meet us tomorrow night. Also here is JP - Ruth Ann and Frank's son (the one who helped us get our motorhome parking spot in with the Busch Drivers at Nashville Speedway last year!). He drove a race car hauler out here from North Carolina, so we had a chance to visit with him already today.
