A little online searching on the "Chasin' Racin'" Website told us that the Springfield Speedway, about 45 minutes away from Branson, was a dirt track with a good show lined up for Saturday night, so it was time to get Greg his dirt track fix! It was a good night of racing - and we especially enjoyed seeing our old favorite, the Legends Cars battling on-track.
Tomorrow (Monday), we'll move house from Branson to the Topeka, Kansas area (about a 5 1/2 hour drive). We'll drive about 4 1/2 hours more on Tuesday to Oakley, Kansas, and on Wednesday, we'll arrive in the Denver area to spend another few days with Jess, Tom and Zach before we start heading back West. Our original plan had been to take a southern route out of Branson, stopping in Dodge City, Kansas to see the old West town (and Boot Hill Cemetery) that we'd always heard about in the westerns. However, the campgrounds we were going to stay at en route appeared to be pretty dicey, and we decided not to take this mostly two-lane highway route, as there really wasn't going to be much to see in Dodge City, anyhow.
