Lost Valley Lake Resort

After a couple of months of having company, being company, and being in company, we're alone again, catching our breath here in our Thousand Trails Horseshoe Lakes Preserve.  It's a pretty park, and one that many of the southbound Canada Geese seem to stop at.  However, we were quite disappointed to find out that, despite the 90+ degree temperatures, the swimming pool closed yesterday for the year. (The park closes down October 6th until Spring).  So, after a bit of research into our other membership parks, we found that there's a beautiful resort called Lost Valley Lake Resort -  Lost Valley Lake Resort - Owensville, MO - about half way between here and Branson, Missouri, that is part of our Resorts of Distinction membership, which means we can stay up to two weeks at no charge.  It features an indoor (i.e., year-round!) pool and spa, sailboat rentals on the two lakes that are part of the resort, horseback trail rides, and a surrounding area that sounds very interesting.
So, we're scheduled now to leave here on Monday, stay a week at Lost Valley Lake, and then move on to another membership resort in Branson, Missouri, which sounds equally enticing!  In the meanwhile, we'll take advantage of the downtime to do lots of laundry and some "fall housecleaning".
September 9th update - One of the few downsides to this lifestyle is that we sometimes meet new friends that we'd like to spend more time with, just as we're about to move on.   This is one of those times, as we met Ed and Judy, who retired in Phoenix last year and went fulltime.  They, like us, are covering lots of territory, moving around quite a bit and taking advantage of the membership campgrounds.  In the small world category, we discovered that Judy, who sang in Sweet Adelines back in Phoenix, knows our friend Chris back in California, because of that connection!  As we've done many times before - we exchanged emails and website addresses, with hopes of meeting on down the road somewhere!
