We got the motorhome set up in Banff National Park, then we took the car to Calgary to pick up Keri, who flew in late.
Banff National Park's RV Park (called Tunnel Mountain Trailer Court) is very unique, in that the motorhomes and trailers are parked along either side of long roads on short turnoffs with full hook-ups in each turnoff.   The views in every direction are breathtaking - the Canadian Rockies are so massive and beautiful.  Not even pictures can do them justice.
The "little" town of Banff has grown alot since Greg saw it as a teenager, and even since I saw it in the late 80's.   Adding to the feeling of 'busyness" was the fact that the main street of Banff was totally torn up and under construction, but it's still a great town, with lots of little art galleries, tourist shops, pubs and restaurants.  Up the street and around the corner is the elegant Banff Springs Hotel (now called the Fairmont Banff Springs), modeled after a Scottish baronial castle, this mountain resort is built of locally quarried Rundle limestone from nearby Exshaw but its setting, surrounded by beautiful mountains reaching for the sky, makes it so very memorable.
