We left Redlands around 8:30 this morning, drove through the crazy L.A. traffic, and then through the San Joaquin Valley with its miles and miles of crops, and finally got to our Thousand Trails San Benito Preserve, which seems to be miles away from everything, here in the Hollister/Gilroy (Garlic Capitol of the World)/Paicines area. We found out rather quickly however, that there was no chance of being bored here, as our neighbor, Lee, introduced herself to us before we had even parked, and within a few minutes we were enjoying an impromptu happy hour with Lee and another neighbor, Mike. We so enjoyed Lee's company that we returned the invite and had her join us for our own impromptu dinner of chili and grilled cheese sandwiches! Much like us, Lee truly enjoys the opportunity to explore new places and meet new people that this lifestyle offers. She's got some incredible stories to tell - and her sense of humor is a hoot. In a very short time, we've learned alot about some new places we need to explore, and some adventures we would enjoy. First among them - the Monterey Bay Aquarium - it's about an hour and a half from here, and I think we'll head over there tomorrow.
I know I'm VERY far behind in uploading pictures to our TravelPod, but it's not for lack of trying, as I wrote stories and added pictures to the Verde Valley entry yesterday, only to have the upload fail for unknown reasons, so, for now - this entry and more of the usual promises that pictures will eventually be added!
