What was supposed to have been a short, 3 hour drive from St. Augustine to Hardeeville, SC (right next to Savanna, Georgia) turned into about a 4 1/2 hour drive, as we drove around in circles, backtracked, u-turned - including one where we had to disconnect the car and tow dolly after ending up on a dead end road that wasn't marked 'til it was too late - (and swore a lot!), trying to find the RV Park. We had instructions from our camp book which gave us 3 options of how to find the place, and Satellite Sally did a heck of a lot of re-calculating while all this was going on. Finally, having exhausted all of what seemed like the common sense trace and re-traced steps, we followed Sally's directions, ignoring the stree names she said, and finally found our RV Park. Turns out, the State of S. Carolina recently did away with State Route 170-A (and all the signs which referred to it!), changing the name of the highway to St. Rt. 315! So, the road our Rv Park's address was on, didn't exist any more, according to all signage!
Anyhow, all's well that ends well, and we got settlled in, and had Cousins Janet and Bob over for dinner in the evening. Good visit, as always, with them!
