Where I stayed
Thousand Trails Orlando Preserve
We left the Ft. Lauderdale area on Friday morning, heading back to our Thousand Trails Preserve near Orlando,
Tonight, we met up with my old college room-mate SueAnn (1968 at Oakland University, Rochester, MIchigan), and her husband Sonny, with whom we reconnected in '08 near their home in New Hampshire. Sue just retired this past summer, and after spending much of the summer in her family's home area, Price Edward Island, Canada, they're down here in Vermont at their condo for the winter. It was fun to spend some time with them, talking about life as retired folk, about our hopes to visit PEI and the other Maritime Provinces in the future (hopefully Summer 2011), and about our plans here in Orlando. We suggested one of our favorite places for dinner - Sweet Tomatoes (which we first become fans of back in SoCal, where it's called Souplantation)...and headed over toward Orlando to share the experience with them. It's such a great place, where I'm able to eat healthy while thoroughly enjoying myself, and there's plenty of good comfort food (besides the 50+' long salad bar) to even satisfy the guys! (The waitstaff is quite good, as well, quickly clearing used dishes when we go up for refills on anything!...the waitress in our section this night shared coupons with us for buy one/get one dinners good for the next couple of weeks!)
Our Grandson Zach will fly in on Thursday night, and we're going to do the Disney things for a couple of days, and we'll take him to the Kennedy Space Center one day, too!
Still temps well below-freezing here every night, and not getting to 50 during the daytime - way too frigid for Florida!

From those who've been in the teens and single digits w.o the wind chill, enough with the complaining about the weather already!
Enjoy your time w. Zach at Disney and Kennedy - Jess told me he's been asking hourly about what time she's picking him up to go to the airport!
