Today's drive was much different than yesterday's...cold, clear skies greeted us as we on causeways, over rivers and bayous,  and by the side of the Gulf of Mexico.   We crossed the Achafalaya River (it's pronounced cha-fah-lie-ya), and we saw a new entry ramp to replace the one that we had photographed two years ago that had been moved several feet by the force of Katrina's surge.
We reached Florida in the afternoon - soon seeing the wonderful white quartz sands of the Destin Beach and Ft. Walton Beach area on the Panhandle.
Checked into Topsail State Park, which is rated in the top 1% of all RV Parks in the nation.  the spaces are wide, there's a small lake right behind our site, and across the way is a heated pool, with a small wooden bridge leading to it.  We're going to stay here until Monday, looking forward to sitting still in this pretty area.
