I'm writing this from a different rv park - Fisherman's Retreat - still officially in Redlands, but about 10 miles up a canyon road from where we were. We've moved here because the park we were in was full starting today, and we're staying around for another two to three weeks so that Greg can help out his old boss at his old place of work. It seems that both the guy who replaced Greg when he retired, and his immediate boss have been quite ill, and there were a lot of things to be done, but not enough people to get them done. When we were at Mike and Chris' house on New Year's Eve Eve (no, that's not a typo!) Mike asked Greg if he'd consider staying around to help out - so that's the scoop! In the meanwhile, we're hoping we can still get to Florida by the end of January or early February, but it will probably be a few days later than originally thought. We'll just have to hustle across the Great State of Texas, instead of enjoying the leisurely pace we had planned.
Will keep you informed as we know more...for now, we'll bask in the glow of having some extra spending money for 2008!
