Our mileage is lower than in past years, as we sat still and work-camped from January - April in Apache Junction, Arizona; and from May - October in Port Clinton, Ohio.
But we still managed to cover some ground and had SO many wonderful adventures!!
MOTORHOME MILES DRIVEN 4,260 Miles (11,356 last year; 6,400 in '10; 5,186 in '09;
11,801 in '08, 14,046 in '07; and 15, 097 in '06)
AUTOMOBILE MILES DRIVEN: 9,131 Miles (15,500 last year; 10,112 in '10; 10,906 in '09, 13,356 in '08; 14,665 in '07 and 14,000+ in '06)
GALLONS OF DIESEL FUEL PURCHASED: 526 Gals. @ $3.889/Gal. Average Price (1,374.2@$3.80 last year; 775.65 @ $3.08 in 2010)
AVERAGE MILES PER GALLON: Once Again, this # is 8.1 miles per gallon, although it just dropped from 8.3 after extended generator use (which uses diesel fuel) 8.1 last year; 8.3 mpg the prior 5 years : (
FUEL COST PER MILE: $.478 ($.469 last year; $.373/mile in '10; $.387 in '09
and $.448 in 2008!)
AVG COST PER NIGHT OF RV "CAMPING": $12.88 ($10.81 Last Year) (includes all RV Parks,
utilities, camp memberships, "in lieu of" payments, etc. - we also pay for our sites where we work camp), which comes to $392.08/month "Rent"!
If we add our "camping" costs and our diesel fuel costs for the year and divide them by 12, we're only paying $561.82/month - about 1/3 of what our rent + utilities used to be in a stick and brick home...and we're having the time of our life, visiting friends and family and seeing endless wonders as we travel!!
