We drove the hour and a half from St. Marys, Georgia, into St. Augustine, Florida, oldest city in these United States.  Our reservations were at Anastasia State Park, so we had to cross the Bridge of Lions (a beautiful drawbridge, which went up to allow several sailboats through, just as we got to it!) to Anastasia Island, East and South of downtown St. Augustine.

We got settled into our sandy, but private site, got online to find someplace good for dinner, and then headed out to "Saltwater Cowboys" (where the locals supposedly go!),  to enjoy some down- home seafood Southern cookin'!  I enjoyed stuffed Tilapia and Shrimp, and Greg had shrimp 3 ways, all in a cozy, "old Florida" style beach-shack type of restaurant, which was on the shores of the Salt Run, which runs between Anastasia Island and the beach which separates it from the Atlantic.

On our way back home, we stopped at the Anastasia Amphitheater, which has been transformed into a Winter Wonderland for the upcoming Holiday season, including an outdoor ice-skating rink, many beautiful lights and decorations, sleigh rides (pulled by tractors, rather than horse-drawn!), and of course, with Christmas music overall.  Very pretty, well-done, and the temps dropped far enough down that we felt as though it could snow any minute!
