Thanks to my iPod app "History Here" - we found out that the Ty Cobb Museum was less than a half hour from us. Since it was a cold and rainy day, we decided it was perfect for spending time in a museum remembering baseball and the boys of Summer! Ty Cobb wasn't born in Royston, GA, but he lived there most of his life - before and after baseball. He founded the hospital (which bears his name) there, and his foundation continues to provide college scholarships to students from the area.
It's a small space, but the museum is very well done - and Ty Cobb was such an interesting and talented man that there was lots to be learned!
