Moved a bit further south today, landing in Falls Lake State Park in Durham, North Carolina.   Nice park, good price, and our friends Ann and Ken are parked across the road from us!

We got here, got settled, and then went over to see Greg's "Auntsy Nancy" - a family friend up in Canada who has become part of the family by proxy!  She recently moved to Raleigh to be closer to two of her sons - so it was fun to see her in her new environment, and to meet her son Sean, too!   Had a wonderful roast beef dinner, shared a bit (!) of wine, promised to see her next summer in Canada, and hopped in the car to head back to the "home"

Lo and behold!  Without any notification, it turns out that NC State Parks lock their gates (both directions, in and out) at 8 pm!   We got back to discover we could not drive back to our site!  It was a cold and very dark night, and we were thankful that our friends Ann and Ken had gotten back to their site before the "lock-in" occurred, so Ken drove up to pick us up, and we (NOT happily!) left our car outside the gates of the park!  There WILL be letters written - we are very unhappy about this situation!
