We had a great day at 868 Vineyards in Purcellville, VA (just past Harper's Ferry) - very nice grounds, and they were extremely hospitable about allowing us to use any of their facilities (even under cover) for our picnic lunch of baked "fried" chicken, grilled veggies, multicolor potato salad, and cole slaw, which Tom and Nikki had prepared and brought.
Even though we couldn't get out of the cold wind, we at least were under cover when the few drops of rain fell! The wine tasting was excellent, the meal was great, but most of all, the company of cousins and family made it a perfect day. Sadly, poor little Chris didn't feel well (turned out to be double ear infections), and Rishi was sweet to take him into the car, out of the wind, while we continued our catching up and reminiscing.
