After a very enjoyable first evening in the area, which we spent with friends Ann and Ken Sair, we watched them pull out of park the next morning, and we were on schedule to meet up with old friends and former co-workers (2009 at Cedarlane), Patty & Frank Seiler.  Patty & Frank had been working all summer at Hershey High Meadow Campground every summer since we first met them.

We met them at Shady Maple Smorgasbord, where we feasted on more different kinds of very good food than any one person should eat at any one sitting!  It was a fun place to go, with a variety of common (broasted chicken, roasted turkey, roast pork) and not-so (pig's knuckles, seafood balls, pineapple and traditional "filling"/aka stuffing!) foods.  Afterwards, we shopped at the Shady Maple Farm Market - a huge, modern grocery store, with fabulous products and produce at equally fabulous prices...definitely worth the half-hour or so drive to East Earl.

Afterwards, we stopped at WalMart (again, uniquely identified as being located in Amish territory by the covered parking provided for horses and wagons!), to pick up a couple of additional items, and we investigated the smell of rear-end grease coming out of the back of the car.  We had had a new rear-end gear installed the week before leaving Ohio, and it was disconcerting to find a leak - so Greg ran over to a nearby auto shop to have it checked while I ran into Walmart.  When we got home, he called the repair shop in Ohio and got information on where he could take it the next day to have warranty work done on it.

On Thursday, we had planned to spend the day with Patty & Frank, seeing their park, and catching up on all that's gone on in the last 3 years.  Patty and I ended up having the day together, while Frank went with Greg to get the car worked on.  When they got back, we fried up the Lake Erie Perch that Greg had caught back in July (on the day of the big hail storm!) - it was a great dinner shared with old friends, and a fun way to spend the day.   The car appears to be fixed, and tomorrow morning we'll be on the road again, heading toward Washington, DC.
