A lot of updating going on at once here, but we're committed to getting caught up, if possible! On Sunday, (2/19), we packed up from the Thousand Trails Park and moved about an hour away to our friend Pat's, in Webster. What a great setup she had for us - spacious grounds, and our own hookups, even! (See Picture #1) As soon as we got there, we settled in at Pat's place to watch the Daytona 500, while catching up with our old friend (we've both known Pat for almost thirty years!). Rose celebrated with a few whoops and hollers when "her guy", Jimmie Johnson #48 won the Great American Race. Greg graciously acknowledged that win on Monday morning, when he raised the #48 flag over the motorhome! (See Picture #2).
We had a great time visiting with Pat, taking turns with dinners at each other's places, and Greg enjoyed the opportunity to accomplish some projects around the property, as he's missed having the list of "Honey-Do's" that goes with stick-and-brick houses.
Music was one of the best parts of the week. Pat's great voice and guitar-playing have always been a big part of time spent with her - going back to the days of snowmobiling in Hayward, Wisconsin. On Thursdays, one of the RV Parks near where Pat lives has a jam session of bluegrass and folk musicians, who sit in a circle and just take turns pickin', grinnin', and singin'. (See Picture # 3). Our friends Ruth Ann and Frank, who were staying in a near-by RV Park, came over, too, and we all enjoyed more than two hours of great music.
Then, on Friday afternoon, Pam, a friend of Pat's and fellow musician, came over to Pat's place and the two of them jammed and entertained us for the entire afternoon. Fabulous music (including some great tunes each of them have written) and wonderful harmony and guitar playing were the order of the day! We couldn't have enjoyed it any more!
On Saturday, we got back into race mode, going to the Hooters Pro Cup Opener at USA International Speedway at Lakeland, once again with Ruth Ann and Frank. Another good night of racing!
Moving back to our Thousand Trails Park in Orlando on Sunday (See Pictures #4 and 5), looking forward to meeting up with Rose's sister, Jill and her niece, Megan, and nephew, Nate, who are in town for Spring Break this week. Later!
