We arrived at Silver Springs, Florida, which is near Daytona this afternoon. Were met immediately by our friends RuthAnn and Frank - probably will keep so busy that it will be a while before we get to a "real" update. For now - here's the map pin and "talk to ya soon"!
Our goal here is confuse as much as possible, so we've already uploaded some pictures from the Feb 10-11 Daytona weekend, (which we spent in the pits watching the ARCA race cars plus practice for the IROC cars) to the following update...sorry 'bout that - but it's hard to move pictures around will include a couple more here.
Rose's cold got the best of her much of the week, so Greg and Frank decided to get to the dirt track races (Volusia Speedway) on Sunday night - the Speed Week races at the smaller tracks in the area like this were one of Greg's main goals in getting to this part of the world at this particular time! After driving the ~40 miles to get there, they were told that the races had been cancelled because it was too cold (it was in the low 20's!).
On Monday, Rose opted to stay in bed while Greg, Frank, and RuthAnn went to Big Daddy Don Garlits' Drag Racing Museum, which also included a classic car collection. Greg did a great job of taking pictures (see photo album) - one of Rose's usual "specialties" - but he knew she was disappointed to have missed it.
On Valentine's Day, Rose managed to get enough energy to help get the "house" packed up, and we moved to our Thousand Trails Park in the Orlando/Clermont Area. That's closer to where we will meet up with the Lynch Tours Bus to the Daytona Speedway on Thursday.
