As I mentioned in my last update, we had a wonderful guided tour of the Sedona/Oak Creek Canyon area, thanks to my Cousin Mike and his wife, Jeannie, whose house has the most incredible view of the Coffeepot Rock formation outside their living room window (see Picture #1). Mike had also taken us around to Jerome, a "ghost" mining town, with its abandoned copper mines, and from there, we could see the Sedona area's red rocks in the background, about 40 miles or so away (see Picture #2). The entire area is breathtaking, and only a hint of what we'll see when we make it to the Grand Canyon in some future travels! (See Pictures #3 and #4). Had dinner with them at a Mexican Restaurant, where we sat by the picture windows and continued to enjoy the beauty of the area. With promises of trying to get back together with Mike and Jeannie in the future, perhaps after they've moved back East, we went back to our campground in Cottonwood for the night, and then packed up and moved back to Casa Grande the next morning.
