Far from Cell Block # 9
Everything's looking up - if bad things really come in 3's then 1. Not being able to sleep in motor home on board ferry 2. Worst breakfast
ever -on the ferry, should have known better. and 3. being our little
tiff with the bus. Onwards and upwards from there!

We were decidedly happy to put a little distance between us and
Split- within minutes we were on the road going up the coast. Gorgeous
views- the best mood enhancers ever! Lovely time of year, temp. must be
about 19 or so, no traffic, peaceful and quiet. Just perfect.

Within an hour's drive of Split we found a fantastic campground-
Camp Adriatic. Hello Mother, hello Father- here we are at Camp Adriatic...tra la la la.
About 15 acres of aromatic Pine trees along a lovely coast line. The
girl at reception summed it up nicely: You'll love it here- now that
everyone's gone! True enough, we practically have the place to
ourselves. Wonderfully clean, very nice bathrooms and showers with
plenty of hot water thanks to a large array of solar collectors. Wifi
accessable from nearly every site. Nice!
Strolled down to the crystal clear water, nice and warm still. I had
planned a late night swim, but Steve not keen- it has just started to rain a little now,
guess he doesn't want to get wet! We drove back into Primosten, a
seriously charming little town a couple of kilometers away, for dinner.
Terrific meal of some kind of fish for me and pasta for Steve at a rooftop cafe under the stars. He just
can't bring himself to have fish on his plate with the head still on.
His kind of headless, tailless, boneless fish is raised from birth on
thin slabs of blue styrofoam.
There are little yacht marinas in virtually every bay and inlet
along the way. The hillsides have short little stacked rock walls
dividing them up into odd shaped quadrants for no reason that I can
see- presumably some kind of squatter's rights, but there doesn't
appear to be any kind of consistent agricultural activity.
