Broke wet camp whilst let boys chill in front of TV and headed for Grootfontein. 220kms - as we set off by 8am stopped at Rundu for supplies - book said small town but bigger than Katima and good shop. It rained as we came out of Shoprite. Hit road and drove to Roys Camp East of Grootfontein - had a look round - rustic and artistic but as midday decided we could handle more driving to cut Thursday's journey down.
George had text from sister Kate asking to call - George predicted something has happened. Turned out her Grandad passed away last night. We were all very sombre and pensive for rest of drive..
Drove another 60 km to Grootfontein and then 50km to Tsameb. Couldn't find information place - moved on by police. Found 'Mouses' camp but someone's front lawn!
Finally went to Kupfer Quelle resort. Brand new , camping, asked if swimming pool - yes so we stayed here. Swimming pool turned out to be olympic size and over 4 metres deep at deep end! Played in pool in warm sunshine for an hour or so and then tents again! Very accomplished now, stuck up soggy tents and nice shower and shaved after over a week. Felt good to be clean!. G cooked nice light chicken curry and we played cards.
Bed to read at 7.40 and tomorrow up early to head for the Cat conservation place - Okonjima. A 3 hour drive and want to arrive early to max our time there.
Thunder lightening, trucks, cars woke up at 10ish and George the same. Getting epxert at breaking camp now and hit the road at 8am.
