Our bus journey from Jaisalmer to Pushkar was eventful, like all other trips!! 2 hours into our 12 journey I thought I could smell paneer (Indian cheese) curry..."can you smell the curry Matt?"....uh no, it was an Italian lady, who was sat in the sleeper compartment in front of us, throwing up out of her window...into our open window!!! Luckily not much came in, and it narrowly missed Matty's foot...sooo funny!

We were due to arrive in Pushkar at 430am (according to the fella at the hotel), but 2am we were rudely awoken by the driver shouting "Pusssshhhkaaarr", and we were turfed out into the Pushkar hotel-tout wilderness.  We managed to tag along with another traveller to her hostel, and ended up staying there the night....bit skanky but a bed is a bed at 230am!  Woke up early and headed out, bags in tow, to find the hostel we booked (chacha's)....took us AGES to find it in a very small town, but when we did stumble up the dirt track with the stray dogs and found it, we were dissapointed!!! It made the previous 230am room look like a palace! Matt kindly explained that "we would not be comfotable here" and we walked (very quickly) away.

Ended up finding quite a nice place, basic but friendly, cheap and amazing food (the homemade pasta is the best we've ever tasted!).  Matty has got quite friendly with one guy there, who keeps offering him a massage....think he may be secretly gay!   Pushkar is a great place to chill out - a lot of long term travellers who have never left because of the 'special lassi's'.  A bit of hassle but no more than normal...and we're hardened to it - the lake has completely dried up so not so many priests trying to scam us!  Staying here for another 2 days, then hopping on another fabulous bus to Delhi, where we won't be staying, but hopping on a train to Varanasi!!  From there its Nepal baby! Woohoo!

P.S. For all you photo fans - lots have been uploaded!!
