Skype with you and Gemma was perfect. A definite bonus of modern technology.

I just don't get modern art, though. Well, not any that was on exhibit at the pompidou centre. I promise that I tried. I searched for meaning and intent, but still I missed the talent which others must see. Sigh.

The building itself was like a sic-fi space ship, with glass tunnelled escalators leading to the top and an elaborate series of connected halls and corridors within. The top floor is impressively high and offers a great vantage to look down over paris and pick out the near-by Eiffel and Notre Dame and the Sacre Coeur sitting above everything in the distance.

I had coffee and chocolate with Isaak at the apartment and we listened to music and chatted about our plans for the rest of our times in Europe. He left for Belgium Monday morning and from there heads to Amsterdam for the weekend, Barcelona for another few days and then on home in San Francisco.

I answered a phone call from my perfect one and got to tell him a bed night story as he slowly drifted back off to sleep.

I love you all the way to the moon and back, and then some.

I completely understand where you are coming from in terms of your bemusement concerning modern art. I feel the same way, and I would like it if each piece was accompanied by a write-up from the artist as to what the piece is and why they created it. When I don't have this, then the pieces intrigue me on the level of why the artist has chosen to do something. Because a lot of the time it can seem pointless.
