The former docklands area of London is amazing and very inspirational in how an area can be regenerated. Our day started with brunch at the City Farm, just a couple of hundred metres from Tom and Irene's.London is amazing in how green it is, so many trees and a farm - goats, pigs, chickens, donkeys and turkeys. With full stomachs we headed off along the Thames to Tower Bridge. So much to see former warehouses turned into stunning residences, lots of quirky pubs and the amazing Thames flowing past. Walking over Tower Bridge and seeing workmen on top of the Bridge working on huge Olympic rings that are to be hung from the bridge. Past the tower and into the City. We all mentioned a person we'd most like to see imprisoned in the Tower. Will keep the responses secret. Such a variety of buildings in the City, very old and very modern. The Lloyd's Insurance building looks like a huge dairy factory with all the workings on the outside of the building. Back to Tom's and then to Putney. A lovely catchup with Phillippa and Quin in the Boat House. Tube transport is amazing, tube stations are all different with unusual tiles or other decoration. Experienced jammed in with strangers up close and personal but totally ignoring them , not an exchange of looks or a smile, just totally impassive expression. Most people with mobile phones or other devices in their own little bubble. I've already talked to a couple of people!! Even dogs on the trains, I'd forgotten they were allowed, seemingly they are alowed in shops too. We've already seen a couple of border terriers. Emma has organised a lovely surprise this afternoon, afternoon tea at Fortnum and Mason and then tomorrow wedding dress session at Pronovias.
