Having arrived at Kathmandu yesterday saturday and had one last night of luxury in a hotel with water, electricity, even a swimming pool today was the suicide run. That is when you get into a vehicle ad ask the driver to drive on potholed roads seeing how close he can get to knocking into everybody in the pecking order below him. That is the dog, pedestrian, cyclist, and motorbike. The only one above him is the bloody great lorry, we left at 5.30am so you think he would have had difficulty finding people below him, not so there were runneres to be added to the pecking order. Now running on a road in Kathmandu is definately a suicide mission. I maybe brave but stupid I'm not..... Anyhow after 7 1/2 hrs we arrived at Jiri ready to start the trek... there is only one out and that is up and up so I know what I'm doing tomorrow. The veggie diet has started and so far so good.

Well done you!
Hey Pete!
Sounds like you're having a real adventure already! I hope you're legs aren't too tired and that the vegetables will power you along!
We're all missing you back here - cross country just won't be the same without you. Nevertheless we'll put our best performance in (as always)!
Take care Pete and I'll keep you posted with gossip.
