Picking up where we left off:

Lunch was nice and yes Chris picked up a few 80 cent beers. Dodgy Malaysian beer, but beer nevertheless. Went back to the resort and straight to the pool with the sunken bar. Drinks. Met a couple from Perth and more drinks. 2 minute noodles for dinner in our room then to the Beach Bar for you guessed it, more drinks.

Hung out with a nice 60+ couple from Hungary who gave us travel tips and a few phone numbers...awesome. Joined Phil & Eve, the Perth couple for more drinks and then 4 blokes from England. Long night! I mean...how couldn't we...the entertainment consisted of 2 Malaysian girls singing all the hits. They used Paris Hilton's "Stars Are Blind" to open their set, and this cracker was the highlight: "Especially For You", yes, Kylie & Jason. We'll chuck a photo up when we can.

DAY 6

Needless to say that Day 6 started very, very slowly :-) Spent most of the day watching movies on TV. Lunch was a hamburger w/ chips for Chris and a big hot dog w/ chips for Alicia. Lazy = good.

DAY 7

Another slow morning before we walked out to Tekek village for an omlette breakfast, only to find the restaurant with the omlettes hadn't opened yet. So we went further down to Shady's Bakery...slightly saddened by the lack of Eminem but very impressed with the RM 8 pizza. A couple of swims in the pool again soaking up our last full day here. Dinner saw us back at our favourite restaurant for 'special fry ri', Thai fried chicken and cheese fried prawn. Alicia had a heck of a time shelling the buggers herself but reckons she did ok.
Laughs came from the TV that night...a classic Tom & Jerry skit followed by 3 episodes of Sushi Pack. Youtube it and enjoy. I still prefer the old Samurai Pizza Cats but these guys come close.

DAY 8

After pretty much no sleep due to loud storms all night, a suddenly noisy air conditioner and a sore neck for Alicia, we woke up early to check out. On the bus to the airport we met an Aussie couple living in Singapore who may also be heading to Russia in May. Once we got to the airport we were told our flight was delayed by over an hour and a half. Quite annoying you would say, but what can you do? Bit of a nap, snack, and we got to Singapore around 3pm.

Singapore won us over this time. Beautiful city. Organised, green and spotlessly clean. Taxi dropped us off in Chinatown where we got lost in the market, got hassled by street vendors and soaked up the colours. Walked up to Clarke Quay which is simply amazing. Think Southbank with restaurants of every cuisine, a club in the mall centre and more neon lights. We settled on a Moroccan restaurant.

Q: What do you call two Australians in Singapore chatting with a Nepalese waiter at a Moroccan restaurant drinking Irish beer before flying to Turkey?
A: Weirdos.

As the city got darker we got saturated by the great vibe of Clarke Quay and Singapore before our taxi for Changi Airport, which we're pleased to say has free internet. No USB port to upload photos, but internet all the same.

Flight for Istanbul leaves at 11:40pm and we land at 7:40am local time. Cheers!!
