After leaving Nauvoo we drove through Omaha Newbraska. We stoped in a place in Omaha called Winter Quarters. It is the place were the saints waited during the winter of 1846-1847 before continuing there trek westward. The built around 800 log cabbins there overlooking the missouri river. We took a tour around the visitors center and walked through a cemetary were some of the saints who died were barried. It was sad to think of all the saint that died before reaching zion but in the long run we know that they will be blessed for there righteous efforts and faithfulness.
After spending a couple hours there we ate our lunch and then continued driving toward the soux falls.
