Today is a new day…… thank goodness, after going to bed a midnight I guess anyone would be tired the next morning and today I had my first real sleep-in here at Minnesota…… without been disturbed :D  After getting up I went to the kitchen to get some brekkie.  Dad & Grandma  were the only ones  there.  Mama Bear, Uncle, and the Camp Organiser  had disappeared….. probably ran away on a RELAXING holiday to escape the kids.  But no, Mama Bear had gone with Uncle to the dentist to fix her tooth on her plate that snapped off the day before. The Camp organiser had to go to work, the kids were all out playing in the snow, and me, well I was left in the kitchen to fend for my self for some brekkie.  Papa Bear decided to help by giving me a cold bowl of porridge (straight from the fridge!) with cream on the top…. YUCK!  So I protested and told Dad I'd be fine getting my own brekkie….. but Dad wouldn't let go. "Grace your missing out on nutritious food….Grace Dr Weston A. Price would eat this sort of food" and so on…… luckily Ruth was there to give me a hand, she offered me a muffin, which I accepted, and boy it was sooooo much better than cold porridge with cream on top!. :)

By the time I had finished my muffin, drank down some juice, had a cup of tea, and checked face-book, Mum and Uncle Sauli had come back from their trip to the dentist.  Mum came home with her plate out…….so she didn't look to good, but thankfully she got a appointment early in the morning to get her problem fixed. Now it was Dad's turn, Dad had to visit the Optometrist (finally!) to get his eyes checked…… Uncle Sauli said so. Mum & I have talked about getting Papa Bears eyes checked, but I guess we've gotten used to the fact that my Dad has poor night vision so we don't really mind his mumbling words of, "am I  in the right lane", "do I take this exit" and so on.  When Uncle Sauli drove in the front seat with him, that's when he decided to go get his eyes checked. So off to the Optometrist went my Dad & Uncle Sauli.

With nearly everyone out of the house, Mum, Luke, Niko, Karl and I were the only ones inside. I thought that I should go outside and take a few photos of the girls for mum, so off I went in my trackies & hood (with out my snow gear on) to take a few shots. It didn't last too long, before I knew it, I was inside saying "it's cold….never go out again with a few light clothes on".  So I decided to put on my snow gear and finally learnt my lesson about the cold. But,  I only lasted about  10 min out in the cold. I had a slide down the slippery slide and took a few more shots (this time in my snow gear!) and went back inside into my comfort zone……..nice toasty and warm……. just what I like :D  By this time my Dad & Uncle Sauli had come back and Grandma & Grandpa had gone to work and I am sitting down here in the basement doing some blogging…...

Time for Lunch!  Since Auntie had gone to work today, Mum & Grandma made lunch for us all, macaroni & cheese, and hotdogs (Eilas favourite!) and it was yum. After a full meal I went back down into the basement to do some more blogging (still haven't progressed very far!)  but soon after I started, Uncle came down to tell us all to get into our snow gear, because we're going to go to the  big hill!  After everyone scrambled out the door at the same time we eventually got out and into 2 cars we all went, with sleds in the back.  We reached the hill (it was steep as) and started sliding…. my first go wasn't that bad… my second…. didn't go so well. :)

We sledded for a while….Luke tried very hard to escape from all the torture of being put on a sled and sent down a hill, didn't work.  We all kept an eye on him…well that is, Mum and I. :)  So we did singles and doubles, even long trains went flying down that hill on that sunny Wednesday afternoon. Anna & Annika took a sled down the hill which snapped in half as they went flying….. must have hit a block of ice or something. Yes, there is the bad side to sledding…. that is when you fall on ice and really hurt yourself….. it's happened to me in these last few days, and I think it will happen more in the next. Anyway…… you're probably asking if the adults had a go on the sleds…. well they did.  Uncle went whizzing down a couple of times, and Mama Bear did too, and yes, even Papa Bear had a go, although he gave up after  one go and decided to go sun himself on the other side of the hill :D  Seemed like we'd only been at the "steep-hill-with-a-water-tank-on-top" for only a few weeny minutes, yes, it was time to go…..ohhhhh, we'll come back another day.

Grandma was on dinner that night, and I helped her. Dinner was meat loaf and salad. Grandma put the meat loaf in the oven, and we made the salad. Grandma asked me, "So what do you put in your salads" and I said, "Anything we can find in the fridge"……. into the bowls went, lettuce, baby spinach, 2 wee tomatoes, cheese, bacon, cucumbers, and peppers (capsicum), in the end we made 2 MASSIVE bowls of salad, and was there any leftovers…… no.   :D

Dinner was great, then came present time. Eila presented Mum a small RV decoration. It had 'relax' on the side of it…….. hmmm, lovely gift.  Dad was given a 'let it snow'  tie which was blue with snow and a snowman on it.  The tie also played music… pretty awesome.  Dad comment was, "I'm going to wear this to the conference in front of Dr David Johnson". :) Mum presented the Hirsimaki Family with a few Australian toys, and some other stuff.  All through this, Karl, was seeking out Grandma…. these last few days, Karl has been teaming up with Grandma, reading books, talking, doing jigsaw puzzles and all……. :)
