Wow, a whole week has gone by and we're still alive!!! :)
We are now in New Orleans, Louisiana. We caught the ferry across the Mississippi (I love spelling that word---- M-I-S-S-I-S-S-I-P-P-I----) :) to the French Quarter of New Orleans. Missed the first ferry, will have to wait for another half hour….. by the time we got to the French Quarter it was time for a late lunch/early dinner. So of we went, to our first proper restaurant meal. Boy the food was big, I had a Po-Boy, I have never heard of a Po-Boy before, have you???. I had to smile when the hostess brought out the glasses, they were humungous!! I was even more surprised when we finished our massive glass, they refilled it and gave you another…by the time we had finished I was stuffed
After our massive meal, we decided to go see this "canopy of lights" and it was pretty cool, they had on either side of the mall pathway, Christmas trees (which changed colour) and heaps and stacks of lights and decorations hanging from everywhere. About 3/4 up the pathway was five Black American Statues, playing jazz instruments, awesome. Then at the end of the path was a ginormous (sorry Maija….just had to use that word!!!!) :) Christmas tree.
After a awesome night of eating, walking, getting lost (as usual), being super cold (the girls didn't wear any warm clothes, so they were freezing) and having fun, we made a mad dash for the ferry.
Back at our campsite we spent about an hour deciding what do about our RV toilet, it was clogged up with loo paper and was sticking to the walls like glue….. we finally got to bed (at a ridiculous hour).
We had had a awesome,awesome,awesome day……
