Today we have 6 hours of driving to do, San Diego to Lake Mead (where Hoover Dam is), so we better get cracking………yeah leaving at lunch time is really getting cracking!!!  :)  we were so delayed because Dad had to get some tips (from Rice RV - the place where we rented the RV) on driving in the snow and tip on how to look after the RV when were not using it, seems like a lot of steps, hope we get it right……But the good part of waiting for Dad was that we got Candy…….they don't call it chocolate over here……  Once Dad had got all this good knowledge into his brain (His brain must be pretty full cause he had to write half of it down!) we sat down and had lunch, sandwiches…….. is everything in the USA sweet??? the bread was sweet and even the ham was sweet…….wonder what's going on……it was tasty though, that's the main thing! :)

Dad's first time on the highway. Driving on the wrong side of the road at like 120km/h  is scary, so Dad just took the very right lane (remember USA is Opposite to Australia) and stayed on 80km/h ……….good job Dad, don't mind the other cars, doing like wayyyy too fast. After a while Dad was getting used to the busy roads and started going faster and faster, and eventually got up to full speed. With that Dad was enjoying the scenery, making comments on everything, as usual. :) and I have to admit, the scenery was spectacular, Big boulder mountains and flat plains, overgrown with shrubs, as well as the modern structure of overlapping bypasses. Truly amazing!

The highway was busy, busy, and more busy. The only thing was Where was everyone going???  Here was this highway, in the middle of no where…….and everyone was here……

It was dark now and we STILL hadn't reached Lake Mead, but just as well, we got to bypass Las Vegas, and in the night, Las Vegas is the most beautifully decorated city I've seen. She was all itt up in Christmas lights, and city lights and was just…….pretty as

After driving through Las Vegas, we got lost…….as usual. Sandie (our GPS) was confusing us by saying "Make your way to the nearest road", annoying and confusing, so we turned her off and decided to ring my Uncle……or did he ring us….not sure, one or the other, but anyway, to cut a long story short we eventually found our campsite at Lake Mead and settled in, and I have to say that I had probably the best dinner since we arrived here in USA. It was simple, but tasty, but most of all, it was fresh.
