Early start...to have any chance of watching the cricket and seeing the Taj Mahal the only way to do it was by car.

Now we're not mental enough to navigate Indian "Highways" ourselves...no, we employed a mental driver to do it for us!

As we arranged things a bit last minute I think the driver's company really dredged the bottom of the barrel for this one. He had probably been lying after drinking the whole bloody thing!

Any way I won't say anymore as it might scare the folks...sufficed to say we made it and we're still alive to tell the tale.

It was a gruelling 6 hr drive from Delhi to Agra but well worth it.

The beauty of the Taj Mahal is something indescribable in words and for which pictures do no justice. It is as everyone who has been there says it is...Amazing.

The way the marble changes colour as the Sun sets is truly breathtaking.. and we had just made it.

After sunset we set off again, this time to Jaipur...through the night - another 6-8hrs.

Titia tried to sleep in the back, while i kept the driver talking...hoping he wouldn't fall asleep at the wheel while trucks were coming the other way.

We at last arrived at 4am and very happily stepped out of that 4x4 for the last time. I resisted the temptation to kiss the tarmac but was very glad it was over.

If it all sounds a bit rushed...it was. You can do it at a much slower pace but it depends what you want to do.
