I know it has been a while since my last post but I don't think most people are interested in our everyday life - if you are, you need to get your own life! Having said that, everything with us is going great. We continue to enjoy the winter at the beach. As you can see we have some really spectacular sunrises and the full moon is
breathtaking! We had a great Thanksgiving with our friends in Woolford and a good visit from our children. Thanksgiving could not have been better - a beautiful house on the water, great weather, old friends and off the charts food. Our brinded and smoked turkey was eaten in a flash.
We are statrting to wind down here and gear up for our Asian trip. We have a number of social event yet to go including visits from family this weekend, a Cork and Fork reunion dinner next Saturday night. The Cork and Fork is a Men's Only dinner club started by me over 20 years ago. Sort of a tongue in cheek swipe at political correctness with great food and wine. The club disbanded a few years ago but a few of the founding members have put together a dinner at a members house on Federal Hill in Baltimore.....should be a blast. Oh, BTW the wives are invited....what are you going to do? Hopefully I will remember to take a few pictures and do a short blog on the festivities. We will be leaving here about December 27th and migrating to Baltimore so we can sponge on family and friends. Our flight to Bangkok leaves at 10 AM on January 1st.
I have been working on our Buenos Aires trip and have found an apartment for our stay. It looks great. The location is in the middle of where we want to stay (Palermo Soho) and includes WIFI, cable, laundry, heated floors (it will be the winter when we are there) full kitchen, bedroom with queen size bed - unusual in Argentina - gym, sauna, doorman all the bells and whistles. The cost? How's $900 per month - everything included. A word about the weather in Buenos Aires in the winter. Normal daytime highs are in the 50s and lows are high 30s. Occasional rain but for the most part sunny. It is not unusual for the temperature to hit the 70s. All in all about what you would have in Jacksonville. After 4 months in SE Asia a reduction of temperature will be welcome.
The only other news is that I was reprimanded by this blog site for listing web sites of restaurants...seems they thought I was promoting businesses. If they had taken the time to read the blog they would have seen that I recommended some and trashed others...oh well I have been rehabilitated....I just won't do it again...I promise!
Hope everyone has a happy and safe Christmas and New Year. Notice I said Christmas not "Holiday Season" .
