So, at some point during the last two days, I've managed to acquire a Rodin foot. I noticed my left foot is swollen and sore, like the feet Rodin made on his sculptures. I must have turned it at some point, but one would think I would have noticed! I guess we're having such a great time, it hasn't bothered me too much. We're getting along so well ... laughing at each other and ourselves. So, anyway, after another day of continuous walking, all I have is random thoughts (that probably won't make any sense).
McDonald's times two. We enjoyed both breakfast AND supper today at McDonald's. It was kinda refreshing to eat food we were familiar with. The funny thing is that the food was much better than the McD's back in the states
The French people have been better than last year when Craig and I were here. They've been more willing to speak English, which is great even though our "Frenglish" is getting rather good.
Versailles -- small hunting lodge turned massive palace by King Louis XIV. It's really quite amazing. We walked at least six miles with the tour of the palace and the grounds. You can get an idea from our pictures just how fantastic this place is. As Craig mentioned before, this is his "Happy Place." After seeing it, Kat has added Versailles to her Happy Place list as well (and it's always been on mine!).
More shopping for tomorrow. We've decided that we need to spend tomorrow shopping and seeing a few more sights in Paris (like the art deco-designed Metro stations). If we don't get it all in, the big mouse at Euro Disney may have to be bypassed.
More random thoughts: We're staying away from the riots. Craig's correction from an earlier post -- He meant to mention the artist of the American West, Frederic Remington, not Rembrandt (who is apparently Dutch!).
That's way too much for tonight. It's bedtime!
