There are diet books about how the French women stay slim. I nearly bought one. I'm glad I didn't because today I learned their secret and it has nothing to do with how much food they don't eat. Besides another 400 plus stairs to the top of  Notre Dame Cathedral, there were the stairs at the 7 Metro stations we visited during our run around the city. And there's more tonight at the Arc de Triomphe. It's all about the stairs. I just want to know how they haven't learned about the escalator technolgy.

You have probably heard rumors about how rude the French are. Well... the week isn't over yet- but so far we have experienced only a few rude, pushy women. One actually pushed in front of us in line today. And then smiled at us. But they aren't all like that. The lady at the panini shop was really sweet and I am sure we will find more that pleasantly surprise us. Perhaps we will come back with a changed perspective... will keep you posted.

One of the best things about Paris is the food. I have heard that time and time again and I just assumed that I wouldn't be experiencing that since we didn't choose the Paris on $1000/day tour. We are on budgets, so fast food is our gig. Surprisingly it has worked out very well for us. Craig and Sami had discovered the panini on their last trip here and we continue that tradition. Fast food never tasted so good. Grilled chicken pieces and brie and some other mystery cheese melted on a toasted baguette. WOW! Anyway- it must be time for dinner.

Well, this evening, we wraped our swollen feet in clean socks, put on our warmest coats and headed out to - I don't know if I can even say it- climb more stairs - at the Arc de Triomphe and walk along the Champs Elysees. We had a lovely dinner at McDonalds and enjoyed the view from the top of the Arc. It is midnight so I am sorry but I must close so we can all go to bed. We hope you all are doing well. Keep in touch with us. Leave a comment just so we know you guys are actually reading this. If not, let us know- more time for shopping.

Love you all! Kathryn, Craig and Sami

fun fun
Looks like you guys are freezing your buns off, but have a great time. You will enjoy the stairmaster machines at the gym much more when you get home.
Keep up with those entries, I love them.
Cheers, Lisa O
