Started off checking out of Am Alexanderplatz after another hearty breakfast, wonderful stuff. Then off to Schloss Charlottenburg to view the silver, porcelain and lovely rooms of the old Royal Family. Lovely gardens too. Then across to Zoo for currywurst und pommes frites und apfelschaft - vundebar! Ate by the film festival centre in view of the 'broken tooh' Kaiser-Wilhelm Church. Then a visit to KaDeWe, where even finding the toilet is a mission! Whilst there we saw a £10,000 dress on sale - phew. Found some bargain ties but left the floor with no clothes purchased, we were very good. On the house floor Richard bought me a stunning pair of red glass goblets for Valentine's Day - very romantic! Then we hit the amazing food floor to stock up on coffee, tea and chocolate - if only we had a refridgerated conatiner we'd buy so much more - caviar, foie gras etc etc. With aching feet we travelled back to the hotel, via Kaiser's for beer. A lovely 4* hotel, paid for by Airmiles which Richard has been collecting for years. Our room (no.409) is lovely with sofa, armchair and the oldest TV you've ever seen. Nice curtains too - I am getting old. After a snooze we checked out the local restaurants but ended up back at the hotel for pizza and wine, then snuggled on the bed with our feet wrapped in wet towels, watching BBC News 24 and 'Lock, Stock und two smoking barrels' until we fell asleep.
