Where I stayed
We stayed 5 days at the beautiful Lemontree Oceanfront Cottages in Rincon (www.lemontreepr.com). The cottages are perched right over the secluded beach about 5 minutes or so from Rincon Plaza (where the action is...they say). The Lemontree is so close to the water's edge that when you are standing on your terracs you may think you are actually on a boat! Each cottage is named after on of the island fruits...we were in the MANGO suite!
Here's a copy of the review we gave the Lemontree..."5 stars...We stayed in the Mango suite which was beautifully furnished and had all we required for a comfortable and relaxing vacation with our children. The location was breathtaking with a small beach perfect for swimming and snorkeling. The terrace was large with fantastic views of the ocean and surrounding areas. The indoor/outdoor living environment was a welcome change as nightly we fell asleep to the ocean lapping against the shore and the sound of coqui frogs singing outside the window. The Lemontree property is quiet and peaceful with friendly owners who leave you to enjoy your vacation but are accomodating if their is anything you need."
We ate at El Fogon in Rincon just down from our cottage. We were given a recommendation by the owners of the Lemontree. The food was mediocre, at best, and the atmosphere was smelly and no at all inviting -- especially for the $. We took our food to go and I was very unhappy to find a full, unplucked chicken feather still attached to my pollo asado (roasted chicken). The food, in general, lacked flavor or appeal.
Check out this picture we found online...both the first & second building in view here are of the Lemontree.
