Up at 10 a.m. this morning and off to a magnificent catholic church high on a hill overlooking Viana do Castelo "Santa Luzia". A beautiful church with an amazing view of Portugal!! We hope to get back another day to see the ruins of the first settlement in Portugal, but for now weīre off to have lunch at Jose & Oliviaīs (yes, I know... eating again... itīs the Portuguese way)! They live in Mazarefe (a suburb of Viana - just across the river from Bos'... a short drive on an Eiffel Bridge). We were treated to Prime Rib & Roasted Potatoes "A La Bob" ~ a Canadian meal with a Portuguese twist! Olivia made a delicious desert "Pineapple Mousse" ~ usually made with coffee, but made with pineapple especially for Danielle!

After lunch we went to Pont do Lima... WOW! We toured through the cobblestone streets, enjoyed the awesome architecture, walked across a 2000+ year old bridge (built by Roman Soldierss & still the original structure)! The photos hardly do this beautiful city justice. We went into a lovely church, and a magnificent set of gardens, then sat by the Lima River for a cold drink and pastries. Off to Viana for a quick trip to Continente (the Portuguese Walmart) for cheese, breads & snacks the on to Bobīs apartment for a light supper, wine (iced tea for Danielle) and a decadent chocolate cake!

Out for a walk to the city centre - it seems like a longer walk tonight as we have already walked for miles today! Time for the last ( and most spectacular) night of fire works... well worth the walk!! After the fireworks we took a long stroll to see people creating the "Tapetes de Sal" (salt carpets of Viana)... again worth the effort! After a little res we were off again for the long walk to Bobīs apartment!

We arrived back home at 2 a.m. and went straight to bed. Tomorrow we will slow things down a little and take some time to just rest and visit (whew) :)

Chao for now!
