Asheville, NC is an autumn wonderland in late October.  The Blue Ridge Parkway and the entire area in general is carpeted with a kaleidoscope of colorful foliage.

Our first weekend in the area, we stayed in Lake Powhattan campground.  Tremendous hiking and biking trails litter this park and the camping sites are perfect for outdoor entertainment.

Unfortunately, there was zero cell or data service for any of our providers, so we had to move on Sunday to Bear Creek privately owned campground which sucked in comparison…Oh well…

We hit up several breweries & restaurants during the week and enjoyed an afternoon at Biltmore Estate, but in reality Asheville sort of let us down.  I think we had built it up too much in our mind.

We left a little late on Friday afternoon because we still had not decided where to go.  In the end we headed for Athen's, GA Wal-Mart for a delightful night of boon docking along with a very tasty mexican dinner.  Very cool college town!

The following morning after stocking up at Wal-Mart, we headed to good ole Chehaw in Albany, GA.  The first campground we have visited twice on our journey.  Perhaps because it is close to Destin (home), but we really do love this campground and plus Todd gets to partake in the Fat Four mountain bike race this Saturday.

This past weekend we enjoyed campfires with our camp hosts, zombie paintball shooting, haunted trails, bike rides and lots of good grilling.  The week will be filled with more of the same and the perfect ending to our 7 month travels from home.

Heading Sunday to Grayton Beach campground until we take the RV in for maintenance in Defuniak Dixie RV the following Friday.  We will be in Destin until after the Thanksgiving holiday then heading to who knows where in southern Florida.

Enjoy November and I'll catch up with you afterwards!
