Day 117 Boston Massachusetts
As mentioned yesterday, we took a rest day today, well deserved we reckon!
A sleep in until 8:30am then a leisurely breakfast followed by a little bit of planning the next few days. What Planning! Yes, we did, it was time to consider the next week or so of the journey, we are close to New York and obviously want to spend time there exploring "The Big Apple" yet we have still Plymouth and Cape Cod to attack.
We have outlined a trip to Plymouth and Cape Cod tomorrow with a target KOA in Connecticut at a place called Mystic (Yes Nicole, another Julia Roberts Movie and yes we will have to look up the pizza place).
This decided and a cuppa to finalise the deal we asked Mandy to direct us to the nearest Super Wal Mart. 7 miles away. It was interesting leaving the RV campground at 11:30am as the RV's in cars (tenters) Motor homes (similar to the Castle) and 5th Wheelers leaving in lines. Good choice to keep off the traffic areas today!
The road to the Wal Mart was easy and straightforward, we pulled into the car park near another Motor home, as we walked towards the Wal Mart and past the motor home we noticed an Australian Flag in the window. Interesting!
Stock up with groceries have some photos put onto Disc, (yes we will update as soon as we can!) head out to have lunch and notice the Aussie flag "displayers" are having lunch. Oh Well let's knock on the door and say hi!
Well we interrupted Owen and Bev having lunch and spoke to them outside their Castle for a while and we decided to have lunch and they would finish their lunch and come over and knock on our door.
It was great to catch up with some fellow Aussies doing the same thing as ourselves and travelling similar routes. We have swapped emails and intend to catch up with each other because we are both heading into mystic/New York at the same time. We spent about an hour and a half just chatting, exchanging journey stories that had so much similarity and yet different perspectives and experiences.
We came back and relaxed for the afternoon and caught up with washing and as can be seen the travel report for our good followers.
All is well and we hit Plymouth and Cape Cod tomorrow and we guess Mystic Pizza on the menu tomorrow night.
We make a note here to tell people that truth is that God does work in mysterious ways.
Our loyal followers will recall very early in our travels how we invested $2 in mat that resides in the car park of the Wal Mart we bought it from, well today we arrived back in our RV Campground and requested a new site, (plenty to choose from after the mass exodus this morning) we wanted to be a little closer to the bathrooms. Well the site we were given we drove into, (next to some very friendly Canadians) and low and behold, God has returned an outdoor mat to us, a little more worn than when first purchased, but never the less a mat. So now we are again happy to know that if you are good you get returned what is yours! J
We had a good phone connection tonight and managed to talk to Marion as well as Earnie, Earnie was a good son and remembered to say; "Happy father's Day" so of course he gets a mention on the blog.
Also Pop is proud of Max to hear he has managed to make his first Grand Final play off in his league competition. Well done Max, Have a great game this weekend, we are proud of you and know you will give it your best. Good Luck, and Rylee is home to support her brother, so give an extra louder cheer for us Rylee.
See you out there, New York here we come!
