I arrived in Prague today after a long train trip that included a fast train to Frankfurt and then a night train from there. The night train was ok except the guy I was with turned the heat off in the middle of the night. I was cold when I woke up. I had a bit of trouble finding the hostel where I wanted to stay, but once I found it it was great. It is called Sit Toby's and it is the nicest one I have stayed in so far. Only 15 dollars per night. I met a guy from Toronto at breakfast adn two girlks from Oz. We walked around Prague Castle most of the day and it is beautiful, especially the church and the views from the top of the hill. On the way back we ran into a guy from Texas who speaks Rusiian and he said the locals were not nice when he spoke Russian to them. I wonder why, maybe Communism had something to do with that. Ate dinner with the same people at a place down the street it was good and cheap. Only 100Kc for dinner and two beers. 100Kc is about five dollars. After that, we met some other Americans at the hostel and they wanted to go to a jazz club downtown. Thhe place was expensive by Prague standards, but the music was awesome. Bill Clinton has been to this place a few times and played his sax. Don't know what tomorrow has in store, but I'm sure it will be fun. I love this city so far. Beautiful historic sites and easy on the wallet. I will try to get some pics when I can.
