- stray dogs in Thailand are generally bigger, calmer, fewer, cleaner, and less "mutt-ish" than those in Laos.
- the spirits in spirit houses must be very tiny (see pic)
- SO many people smoke and/or have tattoos (especially tourists that I see). I may have to join the majority...
- I have officially been some country's national flag (red, white, and brown) after getting a nastry sunburn all over my body. I'd attach pics, but it'd just be inappropriate. I am now just white and brown. REALLY brown.
- I love 25-30 degree weather.
- rain is warm here, even when it's a downpour
- small alpha monkeys in heat have disproportionately large...
- I like elephants
- I love the gentle spirit of kind Thai and Lao people
We have definitely preferred our time in Koh Tao compared to Koh Phangan. Probably because the beaches, weather, and vibe of Koh Tao is more to our taste so far. We skipped the Black Moon Party because we heard it wasn't that good even from a local Farang. And it's expensive.
Angthong National Park was beautiful, but we couldn't snorkel in the area we wanted because the waves were too big for our boat to approach the island. Option 2 was alright, but I'm looking forward to snorkeling in nicer waters later. We also went kayaking to a lagoon and hiking up to viewpoints. We skipped out on a trek and going to a cave since we were pretty sure it'd be pretty anticlimactic compared to experiences in Laos. We head to Phuket today and do a multi-island day trip to Koh Phi Phi, etc. in a couple of days.
