Well we have made it home safe and sound. We awoke at 2:30am Israel time on Dec. 29th and headed for security, That is a trip in itself. I had some trouble with the security officer who could not understand whey the children had a hyphenated name, but my name as the last name and that I did not have a husband. Anyway, after 20 minutes of questioning in which time I pulled  him aside and explained that his line of questioning was very disturbing to my children, that I am there mother along with another women whose last name is Connelly, and I had to have the children explain that I was their mother and caretaker he finally let us go. This is the short version and was a bit scary to say the least.

We flew to Zurich, Switzerland and had a four hour layover. We passed the time in the business lounge, another advantage to flying business class.  Lots of snacks and anything you want to drink,  (what a waste for me as I did not partake) unlimited Swiss chocolate (Jesse is ready to move to Switzerland) and fruit, snacks, and rows of on-line computers to pass the time. As Jesse and I sat web surfing, we heard a crash and I knew immediately Noah would be in the area and sure enough, there he stood by the food bar staring down at the plate he had just broken. Of course "it was just an accident" but my poor Noah always seems to be in the spot that accidents occur, it was his seats in the travel van in Egypt that mysteriously were taken apart as well as his seats on the airplanes that were broken by the time we landed - go figure! Ah, he is just SO curious about everything but as they say "Curiosity killed the cat! The staff was very nice about it, I was mortified, and Noah just did not know what to do. After this, Jesse had to take care of anything he needed as he was forbidden to go near any of the food/drink areas.

It was finally time to get on our last flight and although we never left the airport we had to face security again! For some unknown reason I was pulled aside and placed into a cubicle to be frisked by hand! They left the kids standing there petrified and again I had to stop them and tell them my kids would not be left alone outside the cubical and brought them in while they had to stand and watch me be frisked. They even checked my "privates" as Jesse would say! These security people are doing their job but they do need some training on dealing with families with young children. They are just clueless.

Finally, we made it on the plane and returned safely to Boston where Patty was anxiously awaiting our arrival and she drove us home. It was a great trip and we are glad to be home. Hope anybody who had time, which we know is almost an oxymoron at this time of year, who took the time to follow us enjoyed our posts. Thanks for following along. Happy and healthy New Years to all. We look forward to seeing everyone and telling you about the trip in person.

Love,
Sandy, Noah, and Jesse
