All four of us felt dreadful this morning having been struck down by a mysterious illness, the symptoms of which were pounding heads, heaving stomachs, extreme fatigue and an insatiable hunger for fried foods. Having to pack up and check out at 11 and move to a family room was very unwelcome and when they said that we couldn't check into our new room until one, Mr Neville unreasonably lost it and barricaded himself into our room in his until they made up the new one. I think the hostel owner sensitively realised how 'poorly' he was and gave him a break.

Our new room is quite good actually, a double bed for Mummy Char and Daddy G, bunkbeds for us little ones and a cool lookout balcony which you climb a ladder to get to. Once in there, we got back into bed for a while before raging thirst and hunger forced us to venture out. The closest place served us some pretty disgusting pizzas and burgers which revived us enough to decide to head to the beach.

Although packing a bag and sorting ourselves out transport was very taxing, when we arrived at Damai Beach Resort, we were extremely pleased we’d made the effort. It seemed to be free to use the sun loungers and we spend a lovely afternoon and evening lying quietly in the shade, looking out over the gorgeous beach and stuffing ourselves with crisps, ice-creams and fizzy drinks. The sea was as warm as a bath and definitely had healing powers as on our return to the hostel we were all feeling much better.

Must get to bed now, up early tomorrow to head off to Bako Nature Park and have more animal adventures!

Miles Cycled: 0, walking out of the hotel room was enough effort for today..
